中国工程院公布了 2019 年院士增选候选人名单。院士提名工作于 3 月 31 日结束，经中国工程院主席团审定，最终确定的有效候选人共 531 位。其中包括了百度 CEO 李彦宏，提名者是中国科协；百度负责 AI 的副总裁王海峰亦获得提名。另一位获得提名的 BAT 成员是阿里巴巴的王坚。其他名人还有比亚迪的王传福，提名者也是中国科协。申威 CPU 项目的负责人胡向东也获得提名。
