How grandpa's parental figure assaulted me, teenager tells court
A 14-YEAR-OLD young lady on Tuesday described how a man recruited to take care of her granddad assaulted her.
As she affirmed under the watchful eye of a court in Kubwa, Abuja, associations and people searched approaches to get rid of the threat in the nation.
The Junior Secondary School (JSS) three understudy said the parental figure, Godwin Onuminya, 21, assaulted her as she was putting on something else.
She told the court that she got back from school at 1 p.m. furthermore, went into her space to transform from her school uniform on November 4, 2019.
"While attempting to wear my pants, Onuminya briskly went into my room and held my leg. I attempted to yell, yet he secured my mouth and nose. I hit him with my left elbow, at that point he pushed me to the bed, I battled with him and heard a split in my neck, and I fell oblivious," she said.
She said when she opened her eyes, she ended up in emergency clinic and saw Onuminya and her uncle standing.
"The medical caretakers inquired as to whether I could recall what occurred, at that point Onuminya winked at me and flagged me with his hands to stay silent. I asked the medical caretakers for what good reason I was seeping from my private part and they affirmed that I was assaulted," she said.
Equity Kezziah Ogbonnaya dismissed the issue until June 17.
On Monday, a main justice court in Makurdi, Benue State, remanded 35-year-old Apaa Gbafan for purportedly assaulting a 15-year-old young lady.
Arraigning official, Veronica Shaager, told the court that the litigant broke into the casualty's home and assaulted her.
The judge, Mrs Rose Iorshe suspended the case to July 6, 2020.

Talking on the topic: "Access to Child-Friendly Justice System in Africa" Alawiye-King said for minors to get equity, the way toward greeting culprits must be age-proper, fast, and address the kid's issues."
