Google launches new website to explain how YouTube works
Google has launched a new website that is to help people understand how YouTube works. The website called ‘How YouTube Works’ is a part of the company’s transparency measures and it aims to answer people’s questions about various facets of the company’s video-streaming platform.
Google says that the site will answer users’ questions about how YouTube tackles videos involving topics such as child safety, harmful content, misinformation, and copyright and how it has responded to the COVID-19 crisis and how we support elections.
In addition to this, the newly launched website will provide users an in-depth look at our products and settings, such as YouTube Search, Recommendations, privacy controls, and Ad Settings. Users will also be able to access YouTube’s Guidelines and monetization policies so that they know what content they can and cannot put out on the platform.
How YouTube Works apart from detailing how the platform functions on an everyday basis will also show facts and figures from its Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, which explain how and why certain videos have been removed. Lastly, the company will also provide data, records, and current trends that have emerged on YouTube to help users better understand the next generation of Creators and artists.
Google says that How YouTube Works will be launching in the US first following which it will be made available in other countries over time.
