Google Pixel 4a bags more certifications, hints to an imminent launch
Google Pixel 4a was supposed to launch in May this year. But the Covid-19 pandemic pushed the launch date first to June, then to July and finally to August. Now, word is that Google’s budget smartphone is inching closer to the launch.
Last week, the Pixel 4a was spotted on the website of the US Federal Communications Commission. This week the phone has been spotted on Singapore’s IMDA website. According to a report by My Smart Price, the listing not only confirms that the phone is getting closer to launch, but it also reveals key details about the Pixel 4a smartphone.
The IMDA listing reveals that Google’s upcoming smartphone with model number G025N will get both 3G and 4G connectivity along with Bluetooth, NFC and Wi-Fi abgn.
In addition to Singapore’s IMDA, the Pixel 4a has also been spotted on the website of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). However, the listing does not reveal any details about the upcoming smartphone. However, it does hint towards the phone launching in India.
Separately, reports in the past have hinted the phone will not sport the famous Soli radar chip the Active Edge technology like the premium budget Pixel 4. Reports also hint that while the Just Black of the Pixel 4a will be available in August, the Barely Blue colour variant will go on sale in October.
As far as the specs are concerned, the Pixel 4a is expected to get a 5.8-inch OLED display. It is likely to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor that is coupled with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage space. On the battery front, it is likely to come with a 3,080mAh battery with support for fast charging technology.
