Google Pixel 4a to launch today, expected specs, price and more
Google will finally launch its affordable ‘Pixel 4a’ smartphone later today. Google announced the launch of a new phone which is most likely the Pixel 4a. This phone has been delayed for months with its debut first expected in May this year.
Google teased the launch of Pixel 4a in a slightly cryptic way which revealed the launch date. The teaser also featured a “Lorem Ipsum” paragraph containing hints like “lowlight capture”, “blur”, “bokeh”, “megapixel” and “long lasting battery”. Google hasn’t revealed though if there will be a launch event for the Pixel 4a. Google I/O was cancelled this year and there was no virtual event either. So there might not be a Pixel 4a launch live event too.
We’ve been seeing the Pixel 4a appear in multiple leaks and reports for months. Almost all there is to know about the Pixel 4a has been revealed. The smartphone is expected to feature a punch-hole camera on its 5.8-inch display. Pixel 4a could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730 chipset. In terms of variants, Pixel 4a is said to come with 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB storage options.
For photography, Pixel 4a is rumoured to sport a 12.2-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel camera for selfies. Based on the teaser, Pixel 4a is confirmed to have Night Sight and portrait mode. More camera features are expected on the Pixel 4a.
The smartphone’s pricing had also been leaked previously. Pixel 4a is tipped to start at $399, the same price Pixel 3a launched at last year. This would also make the Pixel 4a cheaper that the iPhone SE.
